Before You Get Started
============================================================

1.Introduction ---------------------------------------------

  This product is the printer driver compatible with
  Microsoft(R) Windows(R) 10  (hereafter Windows).
  You can use this printer and printer driver with any
  software application that is compatible with Windows to
  create beautiful printing.


2.Copyright Notices ----------------------------------------

  Microsoft, Windows are registered trademarks of the Microsoft
  Corporation in the United States and other countries.
  Other company names and brand names may be registered
  trademarks or trademarks of their respective companies.


3.Product Contents -----------------------------------------

  Following items are provided with the product:

  - Swiftcolor SCC-4000D printer driver
     Software applications required to operate the Swiftcolor
     SCC-4000D printer with a software application running
     on Windows.
   
  - Installer program (CFSETUP.EXE)
     Installation program that installs the printer driver on
     your computer.
      
  - Uninstaller program (CFUNINST.EXE)
     Uninstaller to remove all printer driver related files
     when they are no longer needed.
  
  - Status monitor	
     Displays the status of the printer and the print job.
     Status Monitor tells you when no paper is loaded in the
     printer at startup, or displays other messages from the
     printer if other problems occur.

  - Please read (readme.txt)
     The file you are now reading.
     This file contains important information about the printer 
     driver. After installation, select the following item from 
     the [Start] menu and display it.
     [Swiftcolor SCC-4000D]-[README]


4.Operating Environment ------------------------------------

  We recommend you use this product on the following systems
  or environment.

  Software

  Windows 10 (x86)

  Hardware

    Computer:
        Computer that guarantees the operation of the OS
        Intel processor, or any other compatible
        microprocessor

    Memory:
        The amount of memory guaranteed to operate by the OS

    Hard disk:
        Requires capacity of 50 MB (or more) at
        installation of printer driver

    Interface:
        Supports USB 2.0 High Speed
        Supports Gigabit Ethernet(10/100/1000Mbps)

    Printer Cable:
        USB Cable
        LAN Cable

    Screen Display:
        Display monitor capable of SVGA (800x600) resolution
        or higher

    Printer:
        Swiftcolor SCC-4000D


5.Precautions before Installation --------------------------

  Please read and follow the precautions listed below before
  you install the printer driver.

  - Before you begin, please refer to the GETTING STARTED
    GUIDE and User's Guide.

  - In order to install the printer driver and perform the
    printer settings, you need access rights to the system.
    Log in with Administrator account first.

  - Before installing the printer driver, shut down all other
    software applications.

  - If there is an older version of the same printer driver
    installed in the system, use the uninstall program to
    remove it. For more details about the uninstall procedures,
    please refer to "8. Deleting the Printer Driver"


6.Installation Procedures ----------------------------------
     
  In order to operate this printer at full capacity, the
  printer driver must be installed in and operated from Windows.
  This printer driver must be installed in Windows.
  The procedures here describe installation of the printer
  driver to use the printer as a local printer.

  1) Confirm that the printer and the computer are not
     connected, then switch the printer on.

     Note:
     When the printer is connected to the computer and turned on 
     before installing the printer driver, it may automatically
     begin plug and play.
     In such cases, the installation fails and the printer is 
     registered as an unspecified device, however, installation
     can be executed by following the steps below.

  2) Open the folder where the installation program resides.

  3) Double click [CFSETUP.EXE].
     The installation program starts.

    *In case [User Account Control] is displayed, please choose
     [Yes].

  4) Read  [License Agreement] and when you agree choose 
     [Agree] and then click [Next] button.

  5) Read the [Cautions], and then click [Next] button.

  6) Choose the connection method from [Select connection].
     When you connect the printer to computers via network, 
     please choose [Connect via network.].
     When you connect the printer to a computer via USB, 
     please choose [Connect via USB or existing port.].
      * The following steps are for connecting the printer to
      a computer via USB.

  7) Enter the printer name to [Name Your Printer].
     When you register the printer as a default printer,
     check [Set as the default printer].
     If you don't need to change the displayed contents,
     click [Next] button.

  8) Follow [Confirmation on the connection method] dialogue
     and connect the printer to a computer by a USB cable.
     When the printer is recognized, installation will begin
     automatically.     

  9) Click [Finish] button on the [Completed] dialogue.

 10) After the installation is finished, a message is displayed
     and prompts you to restart your computer. In order to
     complete the installation correctly, you must restart your
     computer.


7.Warning Messages During Installation ----------------------


  - Some systems, where the printer driver has already been
    installed, may prompt you to uninstall the existing printer
    driver before you install the printer driver.
    In such case, choose  [Delete the printer driver.] and click
    [OK] butoon to uninstall the existing printer driver.

  - When the message Windows [Would you like to install this 
    device software?] appears, click [Install] in this case.


8.Deleting the Printer Driver ------------------------------

  Follow the procedures below to uninstall the printer driver
  once it is no longer needed.

  1. Click the [Start] button and select [Swiftcolor SCC-4000D]
     -[Swiftcolor SCC-4000D Driver Uninstall].

  2. When the [Swiftcolor SCC-4000D Printer driver uninstallation 
     wizard] is displayed, click [Start].

  3. [Completed] Page is displayed, click [Finish].

  4. The message to reboot the computer will be displayed
     after uninstallation.
     We recommend to reboot the computer in order 
     to correctly complete the uninstallation.
     When to install again, please do so after rebooting the computer.

     Note: 
     If the uninstallation does not execute, follow the
     procedures below to delete the unneeded printer driver.

      1) Select the printer to uninstall from [Devices and 
         Printers], and select [Remove device].
      2) Select any printer, and select [Print server
         properties] from the Tool Bar.
      3) Click the [Drivers] tab, and Click the [Change Driver
         Settings] button.
      4) Select the printer you want to remove from [Installed
         printer drivers], and click the [Remove] button.
      5) When the [Remove Driver And Package] dialog box is
         displayed, select [Remove driver and driver package],
         and click the [OK] button.
      6) Click the [Yes] button when the [Printer Server
         Properties] dialog box displays.
      7) Click the [Delete] button when the [Remove Driver
         Package] dialog box displays. Click the [OK] button.

Overview of Print Settings
============================================================

1. Opening the Settings Screen -----------------------------

  - Opening from the Software Application
    Normally, you can open the printer driver setting screen
    in a software application by selecting [Printer Settings]
    of [File]-[Page Settings] or the [Properties] of [File]-
    [Print...].

  - Opening Independently
    Open the [Devices and Printers], and right click the icon 
    of the printer that you want to use and select [Printing 
    Preferences] when you want to set up settings that you use
    frequently as defaults, or when you want to execute utility
    functions when the printer is not printing.


2. Restrictions Related to Application Software ----

  - "Photoshop" series / Adobe Inc.
    When printing from the Photoshop series, even if you
    use "Partial Printing" print function, multiple copies
    may print out.

  - "Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint" series / Microsoft
    Corporation In each application, if Pattern is used to
    fill a rectangular object, the printed pattern may not
    be uniform.


3. Precautions ---------------------------------------------

  When you are using this printer and its printer driver,
  please keep the following restrictions in mind. Be sure to
  read this list before you use the printer and printer driver.

  - Some software applications may not be able to execute the
    exact number of [Copies] selected in the printer driver.
    If this is the case, use the appropriate dialog box of the
    software application to set the number of copies.

  - Portions of the data may not print in areas where there
    are large amounts of gradated areas or overlapped diagrams.
    This could mean that there is not enough space available
    on the hard disk for the temporary storage of data.
    You may be able to solve this problem by increasing the
    amount of available disk space on a drive with Windows.

  - Data may not print correctly if there is not enough virtual
    memory. Select the following item form [System Property],
    and increase the file size for virtual memory.
      Click [Performance]-[Settings] from [Advanced].
      [Performance Options]-[Advanced]-[Virtual memory]

  - Occasionally the print results may not be what you expect
    when printing with the [Print Image After Changing Settings]
    option of the [Color] sheet.
